Stuart Morley, MBA, Business Advisor, Speaker, and Author

Stuart Morley

Stuart works with leaders, mainly mid market organizations, to take their organization to the next level including helping them cope with tough times which is described in more detail in his recent book “Weather the Storm. Survival Guide For The Mid Market Organization”.

He is a speaker to associations and corporations in the mid market or wanting to sell to the midmarket organizations.

As a strategy facilitator, Stuart helps clients address the issues of getting their audiences to participate in developing and implementing a better future for themselves and their organization.

Stuart has 25 years experience in the management consulting (focusing on marketing strategy) and investment banking sectors (focusing on financial and turnaround strategies). He has worked with more than 300 different organizations in 27 different industries.

He is a Past President of the American Marketing Association (Toronto Chapter). He was a part-time lecturer in Marketing at Georgian College (Bracebridge Campus) and was a former part time lecturer at Rhodes University in South Africa plus he was a regular guest speaker at Ryerson University.

Stuart is Professional Member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) and is former Board Member of the Toronto Chapter. Stuart is an active member of CAFÉ (Canadian Association of Family Business and was a guest expert on the CFIB (Canadian Federation of Independent Business) website (www.cfib.ca). Stuart is a leadership coach in partnership with Fulcrum Search Science (an executive recruiting firm in Toronto). He is a former director of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce.

Stuart earned a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and an MBA from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Prior to starting Morley & Associates in 1996 he was a partner in an investment-banking firm for seven years. His career started as a Management Consultant with Deloitte in Cape Town and he transferred to Toronto in 1986. He became a Certified Management Consultant in 1987.

Stuart was Co-Chair of the Strategic Leadership Forum Conference on High Performance Organizations. He is on the leadership team of the Business Retention and Expansion Project for Gravenhurst, led by the Mayor of Gravenhurst.

He is a Past Vice President of Muskoka Family Focus and Children’s Place and is a Past President of Gravenhurst Minor Hockey Association. He is also a former director of Community Living South Muskoka.

In 2009 he founded a new division of Morley & Associates Inc. – BRS JUMP to focus on mid market organizations facing tough times. His partners in this are Gordon Griffiths and Morris Slemko.

Theresa Morley, CA

Theresa Morley

Theresa Morley, CA has 25 years experience providing accounting and business advice to clients. She is a part time CFO to a number of clients. Theresa has prior municipal, non profit and industry experience. She is the Past President for the Community YWCA of Muskoka. She has 20 years experience assisting clients in both the private and non profit sectors. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for nine years in Public Accounting. She started her career in the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche and was a manager in Cape Town office when she transferred to Toronto in 1986 where she re-qualified.

Theresa is a Chartered Accountant in Canada and South Africa. She has a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Cape Town and a BSc Agric from the University of Natal.

 

Marilyn Jeffrey

Marilyn Jeffrey

Marilyn Jeffery is a Senior Accountant with the firm. She attended primary and secondary school in Bracebridge. She is currently completing her CGA ( Certified General Accountants) and her HB Com with Laurentian University. Marilyn works with small and medium size clients based in the Gravenhurst office providing bookkeeping, accounting and audit services. Marilyn has both professional firm and industry experience. She has worked with international manufacturing companies as well as in retail, banks and healthcare. Marilyn has specific experience in accounting packages from large custom applications like QAD - Mfg Pro to QuickBooks for sole proprietors. Her strength is in accounting process controls, and she has specific experience in dealing with foreign exchange issues, compliance with both Canadian and US accounting standards including meeting requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. In her spare time Marilyn is a long distance runner.
